These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Cross State Auto Transport website and any vehicle shipping arrangements we broker on your behalf. By requesting a quote or booking a shipment, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About our role
Cross State Auto Transport is a licensed transportation broker (USDOT 3845921 · MC 1402738, MC authority on file with the FMCSA). We arrange transportation of vehicles between you and authorized motor carriers but do not own or operate the trucks that perform the haul.
2. Quotes & pricing
Quotes are estimates based on current market conditions, route, vehicle type, and timing. They remain valid for a limited period and may change if pickup is delayed, vehicle details change, or market conditions shift significantly. The final price is confirmed in writing before dispatch.
3. Booking & payment
No deposit is required to book. Payment terms are confirmed at dispatch and typically include a partial broker fee charged once a carrier is assigned and the balance paid directly to the carrier on delivery (cash, certified check, or as otherwise agreed).
4. Pickup & delivery windows
Pickup and delivery dates are estimated, not guaranteed, unless explicitly purchased as expedited or guaranteed service. Weather, road closures, mechanical issues, and federal Hours-of-Service rules can affect timing. We monitor every shipment and communicate any change as soon as it is known.
5. Vehicle condition & preparation
- Disclose any non-running, modified, oversized, or inoperable condition at booking. Undisclosed conditions may incur additional fees or cancellation.
- Remove all personal belongings unless you have purchased a personal-items allowance. Carriers are not liable for items left in the vehicle.
- Maintain at least a quarter tank of fuel; secure or remove aftermarket parts; disable toll transponders and alarms.
- Both parties must inspect and sign the Bill of Lading (BOL) at pickup and delivery.
6. Insurance & claims
Every carrier in our network maintains active cargo insurance verified through the FMCSA. Damage that occurs during transport must be noted on the Bill of Lading at delivery before signing. Claims should be reported within 15 days of delivery so we can support you through the carrier's claims process.
7. Cancellations
You may cancel at any time before a carrier is dispatched at no charge. Once a carrier has been assigned and confirmed, a cancellation fee may apply to cover dispatch costs. Specific cancellation terms are stated in your booking confirmation.
8. Limitation of liability
As a broker, our liability is limited to the broker service fee you paid. Carrier liability for damage is governed by the carrier's insurance policy and applicable federal regulations. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Website use
The content on this website is provided for general information. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, scrape data without permission, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.
10. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which our principal office is located, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; unresolved disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
