Questions, answered
What's the cheapest time of year to ship a car?+
Mid-September through mid-October and February through early March are the lowest-demand windows. Snowbird season (Oct–Nov south, Apr–May north) and summer relocation season (May–August) carry the highest premiums.
Do bigger vehicles cost more to ship?+
Yes — full-size pickups, SUVs, and lifted vehicles add $100–$300 to a typical quote because they take up more deck space and weight on the carrier. EVs price the same as comparable ICE vehicles.
Does a non-running vehicle cost more?+
Yes — inoperable vehicles add a $150–$250 winch surcharge and route only to carriers equipped to load them. Tell us at quote time so we match you with the right carrier the first time.
Why is enclosed so much more expensive?+
Enclosed trailers carry 2–6 vehicles vs an open carrier's 9–10, use lift gates instead of ramps, carry higher insurance limits, and the drivers are paid more for the specialized equipment. The all-in delta is roughly 60–80% over comparable open service.
Are there any hidden fees I should watch for?+
Watch for: fuel surcharges added after booking, 'door-to-terminal' downgrades disguised as door-to-door, deposit forfeitures on cancelled orders, and 're-dispatch' fees if the first carrier no-shows. Our quotes are all-in — none of these apply.
